Festival of Colors

There is an Indian temple in Spanish Fork that has a festival that celebrates the change from winter to spring. We heard all about it, so we decided to go check it out. The premise is everyone throws chalk, and you get COVERED. So this morning, we got dressed in clothes we didn't care about at all and took off to the temple. We got there and the place was just covered in people. After watching a few traditional Indian dances, everyone stood up, and the countdown started at 20. When it got to 0, everyone threw handfuls of color up into the air. That moment was the craziest thing I have ever experienced. There was so much color in the air that it was like a cloud over the crowd and you couldn't see ANYTHING. The color was scented too, so you could hardly breathe. After that, you just threw it at each other or rubbed it onto people. It was so crazy but so much fun!! We were absolutely COVERED in color.

I saw your family last night for a few minutes. Rachel had so much fun playing with Curt and his nerf guns. Maybe if you come home for a semester I will see you sometime :-)
